David Hewlett returns to space for 'Debug'

PopGoesTheNews.com Cameras are set to roll in Toronto on the sci-fi movie Debug, written and directed by  and starring  Stargate alumnus David Hewlett.

Hewlett, 44, played Dr. Rodney McKay on the made-in-Vancouver series Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. His film credits include Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming Haunter, which was shot in Toronto.

When Stargate ended Hewlett bought some of the set, including the spaceship Destiny, in hopes of using it for his own sci-fi project.

Hewlett previously directed the movie Rage of the Yeti, in which he also had a role, for U.S. cable channel SyFy.

Little has been revealed about the plot of Debug, which is being produced by Copperheart Entertainment and Hewlett's wife Jane Loughman. Production is scheduled to take place Feb. 14 until March 8 at Pinewood Toronto Studios.
