| Jake Gyllenhaal last worked in Canada on Source Code. |
PopGoesTheNews.com The summer forecast for Toronto just got a little hotter. Big screen star Jake Gyllenhaal is shooting his latest movie in the city.
The 31-year-old actor will play two roles — that's right, two — in An Enemy for Canadian director Denis Villeneuve (Incendies) from May 22 to mid-July.
Based on a novel by the late José Saramago, the film is about a history teacher who tracks down a man who appears to be his exact double after spotting him in a movie.
Gyllenhaal has worked in Canada before. He made the acclaimed 2005 film Brokeback Mountain in Alberta and both 2004's The Day After Tomorrow and last year's Source Code in Montreal. Earlier this year, the star's father Stephen Gyllenhaal directed a made-for-television movie Sworn to Silence in and around Toronto.
The 2008 film adaptation of Saramago's novel Blindness, starring Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo, was partly shot in Toronto.
