LeAnn Rimes to work in Canada

PopGoesTheNews.com • Country music star LeAnn Rimes is coming to Canada – but it's to act, not sing.

Rimes, who is currently making tabloid headlines for her apparent weight loss, will be in the Toronto area from May 2 to 22 to make Reel Love for the U.S. cable channel CMT. The 28-year-old will play “a successful big-city girl who returns to her small-town roots after a family emergency. She then embarks on a soulful, comedic journey to reconnect with family and friends and find meaningful romance along the way."

Rimes added fuel to speculation about her health on April 4 when she appeared gaunt while singing the national anthem at an NCAA basketball game in Texas. The following day she took to Twitter to defend herself. "I do not workout too much nor do I starve myself. I'm so over this and moving on," she wrote.

The last time the singer made a TV movie in Canada – the Calgary-shot Northern Lights in 2009 – she fell in love with co-star Eddie Cibrian, 37. Both left their spouses to be together and were engaged in December.
