PopGoesTheNews.com >> After putting in a few hours of work today on her TV movie, Ashley Tisdale connected with her cute co-star Austin Butler for some authentic Japanese food and a little classic rock.Tisdale, 24, is in Toronto making High Stakes, a musical comedy in which she reprises her role as Sharpay Evans from the wildly popular High School Musical films. Today was her third of 24 days of production in the city and Tisdale was busy filming short scenes for one of the movie's montages.
Butler, who plays a film student, carried a video camera to capture Sharpay (with her pet pooch Boi) frolicking around a water fountain, playing three-card monte, watching break-dancers, staring at a human Statue of Liberty and screaming in horror at the sight of a cockroach among garbage bins. In between takes Tisdale stayed close to Butler, 18, who plays her love interest in the Disney Channel movie (pictured, top right).
The flick is being directed by Michael Lembeck, a prolific director of TV shows like Friends and Major Dad as well as films like The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause – and an actor who is best known for playing Max on the early-80s sitcom One Day at a Time.
Tisdale was in good spirits during the four-hour shoot in busy downtown Toronto, even stopping to pose with a group of fans (pictured, bottom left). The actress is said to be frustrated by the presence of paparazzi outside her hotel, forcing her to eat expensive breakfasts in her suite every morning. She has ventured out for dinners with her cast mates, though, including meals at One and Senses.

After wrapping up today, the actress took off the blonde wig and slipped into some white jeans (pictured, bottom right) and headed to dinner with Butler and her mom Lisa at NAMI restaurant. Then the group was off to the Rogers Centre to see The Eagles in concert.
Tisdale is never far from her beloved maltipoo Maui, who celebrated its first birthday on Sunday. But are she and Butler more than just two-time co-stars (they were also in Aliens in the Attic)? The pair are occasionally photographed together in L.A. and have been known to workout together – even doing some rigorous cardio in Toronto on May 28.
Tisdale reportedly split from dancer Jared Murillo last year and Butler hasn't been definitely and publicly connected to anyone.
