Buble, Bieber and Drake coming to the JUNO Awards

PopGoesTheNews.com >> Canadian crooner Michael Buble is king of the JUNO Awards this year with six nominations while pop sensations Drake and Justin Bieber make their mark with four and three nods respectively.

Nominations for the 2010 JUNO Awards were announced this morning at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Buble, who released Crazy Love late last year, is in the running for the JUNO Fan Choice Award, Single of the Year ("Haven't Met You Yet"), Album, Artist, Songwriter and Pop Album. His producers Bob Rock and David Foster will battle for Producer of the Year.

Rock band Billy Talent is up for four JUNOs, including Album, Group, Rock Album and Single ("Rusted From The Rain").

Hip hop star Drake, who scored a Grammy nomination this year even before releasing an album, earned four JUNO Award nods including New Artist, Rap Recording and Single ("Best I Ever Had"). Singer-songwriter Johnny Reid is mentioned in four categories: Album, Artist, Country Album and JUNO Fan Choice.

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber earned three nominations based on the strength of his debut album. Other nominees include Carly Rae Jepsen, Shiloh, Danny Fernandes, Down With Webster, Stereos, Ten Second Epic, The New Cities, Metric, Arkells, Classified, Diana Krall, K'Naan and The Tragically Hip.

Among the performers scheduled for the April 18 broadcast from St. John's, Nfld. are Billy Talent, Blue Rodeo, Drake, Johnny Reid, Michael Buble and Metric. The show will air on CTV.
