Joshua Jackson debuts Canadian film in Toronto

PopGoesTheNews.com >> Film and TV star Joshua Jackson was back home in Canada tonight to celebrate the premiere of his new road movie, One Week.

The Fringe star, who was born in Vancouver, attended a special screening of the film at the Varsity Cinemas and then went to the flagship Roots store on Bloor Street for an after-party. Later, he and Roots co-owner Michael Budman stopped by Lobby bar.

One Week, written and directed by Michael McGowan, is the story of a terminally ill teacher (Jackson) who takes a week-long motorcycle trip from Toronto to Tofino, B.C. It opens in theatres on Friday.

Jackson, 30, was in Toronto without his longtime girlfriend, actress Diane Kruger. He said when he's not shooting Fringe in New York (the pilot episode of the Boston-set series was shot in Toronto last winter) he lives with Kruger in Paris. He says Kruger has not yet visited his hometown -- but this may happen next year since production of the show is moving to Vancouver.
