'90210' star Shenae Grimes back in Canada

TORONTO (PGN) >> Shenae Grimes, the former Degrassi cast member who now stars on 90210, returned home this week for the first time since June.

The 19-year-old was quick to address tabloid tales about an eating disorder. “I’m small-boned. I’m teensy tiny,” she told Virgin Radio. Grimes, who stands about 5’3”, admitted the public speculation made her parents worry.

“They are so tripped up. Can you imagine reading papers every day and [thinking] ‘My daughter’s what?!’ and then they saw me and said ‘Oh, thank God. You look so good. My mom was like, ‘I didn’t believe it but you know, I still have to be concerned.’”

This morning, Grimes drove herself from her family’s home, picked up a male friend and headed to a local Starbucks, where the pair enjoyed coffee, conversation – and she stepped out to smoke a cigarette. She returned home but then, shortly before 1:00 pm, drove off again for lunch and some shopping.

Grimes didn’t stop by Forest Hill Collegiate, though, where she spent Grades 9 and 10. But popgoesthenews.com asked her which high school was cooler – the fictitious one she attends on 90210 or her former Toronto school.

“West Beverly has got a lot of crazy technology,” Grimes said cheerfully, “but Forest Hill has got my heart.”

Grimes will be a presenter at tomorrow night's Gemini Awards.
