NEW YORK (PGN) >> Canada got a priceless tourism boost this morning from talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.
The stars of Live with Regis & Kelly, one of the most popular morning shows on television, praised Canada's beauty and cleanliness during their daily "host chat" segment. Philbin, who performed his nightclub act at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax on the weekend, showed the TV audience several photographs from his visit of Halifax, including his rickshaw ride, visit to the Alexander Keith's brewery and tour of the historic Citadel.
"I'm crazy about Halifax. It's a beautiful town," said Philbin, before giving a brief history lesson about the city. "We're always going to Niagara Falls and we all go to Toronto -- and those are wonderful places -- but here's a place that has a lot of history and the streets are spic and span."
Added Ripa: "You feel like you're on a movie set. Canada is the cleanest country. It is so clean that I actually wear shoes that have never been worn before when I go to Canada as to not defile the streets with my shoe dirt."
