Kid diddlers come up short

TORONTO (PGN) >> Pedophiles are generally shorter than men who aren’t sexually attracted to children.

New research by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) published in Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment, supports evidence that pedophilia is caused by decreased brain development before birth.

The study of more than 1,000 men who were assessed for pedophilia and other sexual disorders between 1995 and 2006 suggests they were exposed to pre-birth conditions that affected their development.

Researchers at the Kurt Freund Laboratory in Toronto discovered pedophiles were, on average, two centimeters shorter than males who are not pedophiles.

Other studies have revealed that pedophiles have lower IQs, failed school grades more often and suffered more head injuries as children. Pedophiles are also three times more likely to be left-handed.

Dr. James Cantor of the CAMH insists the results of the latest study do not mean that pedophiles are not criminally responsible for their actions but says “the discovery of biological markers for pedophilia has important implications for future study and possibly treatment."
